Rebecca has been preparing herself by working and studying in the event industry for three years. Even as a young child Rebecca loved to help create "events" for friends and family. With the dream of becoming a wedding planner, Rebecca attended and graduated from Mount Royal's Event Management Program while at the same time working in banqueting coordination and corporate administration. Her studies and experience have given her a good understanding of event planning as well as connected her with many industry professionals.

Leigha Blackwood, Wedding Planner, established Blackwood Wedding Planning in 2006, with a few goals in mind, vision, success and a memorable wedding for all her clients. Before starting the business Leigha volunteered and was employed with various event production companies and vendors to establish a secure knowledge of the event industry. Following this work experience with formal education through Mount Royal College and various online consultation programs offered by associations in the wedding planning industry. With these new found skills, hours of research and training the newest member of her family, Blackwood Wedding Planning, began to grow and develop.
